Be Cool Runner

Martin after an hour long run together “Hey bro this is better than drinking beer and hanging out” I now see a fellow addict. Hehe

I went for a run with Martin, short 8k..hehe mayabang short na yun 8k, anyway 20 laps around the oval is more bearable running with a friend rather than running alone, I tried to keep my 166 bpm higher end of aerobic zone, but somehow even at that heart rate I can still manage to talk, so I have to reevaluate what higher end of aerobic hr means.

I’m excited to run the botak this sunday hoping to make a sub 28 minutes time, since it’s been a few weeks from my last race I hope all my hard work training would help.

I ran 7.2k today, add that to my previous mileage of 96k, I now officially reached my first 100kms in 7 weeks. I feel good! From a newbie runner’s perspective, I feel like I really achieved something. Although in the more pro level this is still about a third of what others can do. It is still a high for me though.

While I was stretching after my 18th lap around the Bicol University Oval I heard some of the runners there talking about their Idols the Sabal brothers and Allan Ballester, champion runners they saw running the Mayon Trail Run, how they were crossing the river with their shoes on or not, how they run and etc..it just felt really good that I was part of bringing the Mayon Trail Run to reality last year, add that to my already euphoric state of reaching my first 100km today. I’m just so darn HAPPY! makes me feel like in my own little way, through small projects we’ve conceptualize for the city just for the passion of it, we inspire people to be their best, and we also inspire ourselves to “BE BETTER” and that  “service to humanity is the best work of life…”
