The JCI-Legazpi Coral Farm, headed by JCI Member Martin Reynoso, is now on it’s 5th year, since then in has won the best  project of the JCI-Philippines 2008 besting almost 700 other projects, and various research and positive results has arise from it. Now in an effort to further improve the current farm and deploy more pods, Mayon Trail Run was tap as a possible fund raising activity.

Weighing at 900 grams it is probably the heaviest and biggest Finisher Medal in the local running community, made from Volcanic Debris Coming from the trail itself, with the medal mold hand carve by local artist Rolando Binaday, it is a truly unique finisher’s medal exclusive to the 500 trail runners.

“The Toughest 21k Run in the Philippines ”

Mayon Trail Run takes you across three mountains, hottest volcanic trails, exotic places. A definite privilege for every runner.

Mayon Trail Run was organize by the Junior Chamber International Philippines-Legazpi Chapter together with Councilor Cerilo Chan, it was designed to be one of the Premiere Trail Running event in the country.

Since the start of MTR last 2008, each runner that made the finish line earned himself a place in the running community, for finishing a gruesome adventure of a lifetime race. There is no other running event in the country that crosses three mountains, a japanese tunnel, crosses a river, run 70 degree slopes, and climb five storey high lava walls.

Registrants might wonder why limit it to 300, MTR is a very tough race, last year we had over 300 volunteers, 3 ambulances, a standby rescue chopper, we prepared closed to 3000 water for 180 runners. Logistically it is very difficult to add more (though we will think about it).

Registration will start September 15 and end October 15, 2010

So Charge the Hills — Cross the River — Attack the Slopes of Mayon — Have An Adventure of a Lifetime and Be the King of Mayon!!!
